The Time, It Is Upon Us

Seeing your face

was like finding a cool stream

my throat parched

my heart thirsty

an arid desert

you’d find life scattered,

Far and few between

a lone tree

stood staring back at me

its roots begging for relocation

your love gives the strength to begin again

the life that flows to every nerve of every limb

to the farthest, smallest, narrowest crevice of my tired soul does it flow.

Like the dancing embers of hot coal

fire springs forth once again

calling forth the dry bones of the earth

alive are they now

long sleeping in the dust

the time is here,

the time is now,

yes, the time, it is upon us.
