This Present Disillusionment

uncertainty entangles in its menacing grip

slippery slopes he’s dragged down, lifeless and limp

mental derangement, emotional estrangement

arraignments of enslavements adjacent to blatant vacancy

shift in position, molecular rearrangement

shamefully accustomed to stark, ungraceful vagrancy

what he knew isn’t, what he didn’t, is

tongue tied, heart fried, reminisce innocence

coming to terms with questions presented

tantalizing incentives laced with resentment

i don’t know what i love, but i know what i lament

the past blindness, this present disillusionment
